Position Executive Producer
Description WECT/WSFX, the dominant #1 station in Wilmington, NC is searching for our next Executive Producer. This newsroom leader is an essential member of our news management team, working side-by-side with the News Director, Assistant News Director and Digital Content Manager. The Executive Producer must be confident in the newsroom, coaching talent and producers, as well as bringing dynamic, aggressively produced, showcased television to life in the control room. General Responsibilities:

•This newsroom mentor will coach other producers to be better journalists, focusing on writing, story treatment, and content engagement

• Copy edit stories produced in newscasts

• Develop on-air engagement segments, using available and emerging technology

• Collaborate with regional and corporate news gathering partners

• Monitor Live News Sources to push happening now content on Digital and Social Streams

• Impact and influence newsroom teammates by making daily decisions consistent with newsroom leadership

• Help recruit and train new web and newscast producers

Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or related field and minimum of 3 to 5 years of newsroom producing experience is a must.

•Track record of best practices, including solid broadcast writing, real-time management of live assets and development of showcased leads.

•Solid understanding of journalistic ethics and libel laws
