Job Summary:

A photojournalist tells stories with video, creating content for both television and digital platforms. You'll shoot and edit video of breaking news, sports, events and stories that affect viewers in our area. This is an entry-level position but also an invaluable opportunity to gain experience as a journalist, get a firsthand glimpse at a variety of broadcasting careers, see incredible events and meet unique people, all at a storied and respected home for news in the southeast. General Responsibilities: Shoot and edit video Contribute photos and videos for WBTV's digital platforms Interview newsmakers Gather information Communicate with reporters, producers and assignment editors Maintain assigned gear and vehicles Occasionally help with teleprompter operation, studio production tasks, ENG duties and web posting

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have newsgathering and videography experience with a good working knowledge of video photography and non-linear editing. More important than experience, however, is a positive attitude and strong work ethic. A willingness to cross-train in different areas of news operation is important. We are willing to teach employees who are willing to learn. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can function in deadline situations. You must be flexible, willing and able to work a variety of shifts if needed. A college degree or equivalent experience is a plus. A valid driver's license and proof of insurance are required.
