Title: Daily Investigative Reporter

Location: Raleigh, NC

WRAL News is seeking a curious, dogged, investigative reporter with a knack for cultivating sources, unearthing new information on lead stories, enterprising original angles that move major stories forward, and digging into data and public records.

An inquisitive storyteller who can hit the ground running each day will be most successful in this role. We want a true journalist who understands how big stories affect real people to join our news team. The successful candidate will be a creative writer and collaborative team player who routinely delivers engaging, active live shots.

We need to count on this reporter to break news across multiple platforms on a regular basis. Embracing and effectively using social media is essential to succeeding in this job. Solid news judgment and a strong sense of visual storytelling are essential skills.

In addition to a standard resume and reel, an applicant should submit examples of three recent enterprise stories, along with a brief explanation of how each story was discovered and reported.

Requirements include three years of previous experience reporting in local television news and a four-year college degree.
