Our team has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Chief Photographer. We are looking for a leader who knows how to tell GREAT stories with video and sound and will inspire excellence from our staff. Our Chief Photographer will manage, evaluate, support, and train our team of Photographers and Editors. In addition to daily news gathering, the Chief Photographer is responsible for recruiting top talent and ensuring vehicle and equipment maintenance is being performed regularly.

Our ideal candidate will have an excellent grasp of video photography techniques including audio, lighting and non-linear editing. You will be working closely with early career MMJ's and photographers teaching and coaching on an ongoing basis.  We need someone who will help us build a dominant newsroom based on agressive coverage of breaking news, weather and advocacy reporting.

Duties include:

• Critiquing and coaching MMJ's, photographers and editors.
• Shooting stories in the field with reporters
• Editing using AVID NewsCutter
• Maintaining field equipment
• Maintaining news vehicles

Previous experience with AVID edit systems, JVC and Sony cameras is a plus.
