WBTW News 13, the news leader in Myrtle Beach/Florence has an immediate opening for an energetic and aggressive Newscast Producer with solid news judgment, strong writing skills, a great work ethic and the passion to win. We're looking for someone who has a definitive vision for newscasts and who realizes their competition isn't just a few clicks down the remote, but it comes in many forms: smartphones, DVRs, streaming video and social media. We are seeking a News Producer with creative ideas to join our team.
This position will require the ability to work independently and multi-task: dominate breaking, developing news, and severe weather. Monitor phones, scanners, emails, websites, and sister stations for story ideas and to assign crews and make beat calls. Producers in our newsroom are working journalists.

The News Producer produces daily newscast items, decides the order in which stories will be told, writes teases and other content, times news programs, edits video, and posts video to the website.

Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- •Fluency in English with strong spelling and grammar
- •Excellent verbal, written, grammar and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be able to interact well with video journalists, anchors, videographers, news managers, production and engineering staff.
- Flexibility to work any shift.
