CBS 17 (WNCN) has an immediate opening for a part-time Production Assistant. The successful candidate will have formal education and experience in communications, television production or a related field with preferred live experience in TV news and production environment. The individual must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays. Knowledge of video production tools, Chyron graphics, Stratus Video Management, ENPS newsroom computer systems and non-linear editing experience are a plus. The candidate will work in a team environment operating studio robotic cameras, checking graphics, running audio and tuning in live shots as scheduled for various live news and related productions. The individual should have the ability to work quickly under deadline pressure.

Experience:
Operates studio robotic cameras, prompter and audio console during live broadcasts or recorded productions.
Works with directors to discuss sequences, desired effects, camera movements and lighting requirements.
Records pre-production, proofs news graphics, edits topicals and ingest commercials.
Tunes in microwave and satellite remote live shots.
Maintains studio lighting, production control room and news set.
Provide audio production-related support as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Part-time hours per week: 24-29. Must have flexible schedule, work early morning or late evening hours as needed. Weekends are required. Job is contingent on successful background check results.
Experience in television, film, or post production preferred. Must be able to work in a highly stressful team environment with deadlines and associated pressures.
Must be organized, detail oriented, able to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Must be technically inclined and computer literate.
High School Diploma. Some college or equivalent experience preferred.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
The Production Assistant must be able to stand, sit, reach, climb, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, and make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work in close proximity to others, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions or outdoors during remotebroadcasts. In addition, the Production Assistant must be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions. Must be able to climb 12' ladder. Must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
