WBTW in beautiful Myrtle Beach, SC is looking for an Assignment Manager with a passion for local news and a strategy to grow a strong accountability brand of journalism.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage, coach and schedule news staff
Work with news management to decide daily stories and help to arrange and coordinate news content.
Generate news stories and execute news coverage by coordinating field crews
Short and long term news coverage planning is essential
Successful candidate must be able to manage multiple assignments in a high pressure, breaking news environment. Must have strong journalistic skills and news judgement, and be willing to work extra hours on short notice.

1-3 years' experience working for a local newspaper, TV or radio station or website. Experience should include a demonstration of writing, editing video or a clear ability to learn and acquire the necessary skills and abilities to perform the job duties.

Basic skills in developing journalism based content of a hyper local nature. Strong writing skills, sound ethical judgment as it relates to basic journalistic practices. Exceptions to these requirements could be made to accommodate a candidate with strong professional experience or skills in a critical coverage area of interest. Experience in shooting and editing video and digital still photography or the propensity to acquire these skills are a key requirement . Basic familiarity with web skills.
