Job Summary:

WBTV is looking for an experienced, energetic, aggressive multimedia journalist who is passionate about storytelling on all platforms- broadcast, digital, and social media. You must be focused, driven, and able to manage multiple projects. We need a journalist who is committed to excellence in reporting and photography, connects with the viewer during live shots, and who can tell a clear, compelling story.
You must provide a link to your on-air work to be considered.

General Responsibilities:

• Pitch 3 viable, developed story ideas per shift (not topics)
• Develop and cultivate sources; enterprise stories
• Produce a minimum of one package and one vosot in an 8 hour shift
• Create engaging digital and social content
• Must be able to lift 25-30 lbs and pass a pre-employment drug screen and motor vehicle background check

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field; minor or coursework in political science a plus Minimum of 3 years of experience as a reporter/MMJ required, additional experience preferred Investigative/ political/ enterprise reporting experience preferred; Anchor experience a plus Social media proficiency required

Excellent time management skills
Strong writing skills (broadcast and print styles)
