Meteorologist III - 3751
A dynamic Meteorologist/Digital Journalist who loves forecasting weather. Our ideal candidate will create standout graphics using the latest technology. Be a storm chaser reporting live in the field during severe weather and have the know how to advance our social media strategy. When not storm chasing, you will produce strong stories to advance our weather brand.
Bachelor's Degree in Meteorology or related field. Must be fluent in English. Candidate must have: excellent technical and presentation skills - expertise to prioritize the weather story of the day - ability to sustain live on-air coverage of severe weather watches, warnings and/or alerts - excellent broadcast news reporting skills, including writing/producing packages and live reporting - ability to create original web content including social media content - ability to shoot and edit a video a plus. Participate in promotional activities ;including public appearances.
Experience guiding, directing and motivating others. Ability to identify the developmental needs of others and to coach, mentor, or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skills. Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment. Strong understanding of the field of Meteorology and a proven track record of forecasting. Valid drivers license with a good driving record. Flexibility to work any shift.
