Are you passionate about data and its power to unlock insights and help tell stories? Do you geek out over pivot tables and data visualizations? If so, you should apply to be a Data Strategist for WRAL Digital, the digital division of Raleigh-based Capitol Broadcasting Company. We built and now maintain North Carolina’s largest local media site, WRAL.com, and affiliated digital sites and apps, while also offering a full range of digital marketing and creative services to local and regional businesses.
As our Data Strategist, you will take ownership of WRAL Digital’s existing audience data and develop strategies and tactics for growing first-party data. You will work with sales, marketing and content teams to ensure they have the data and audience insights needed to deliver first-class marketing solutions and ad campaigns that super-serve their clients. You also will be instrumental in leveraging our membership program to collect data and insights and look for ways to deliver business intelligence to our clients.

We expect this data expert to have experience using a Customer Data Platform (CDP), such as BlueConic or BlueVenn, to collect, analyze, build and report on audience segments and behaviors across our digital properties. Terms such as data warehouse and SQL and services such as Big Query and Data Studio should be familiar, not foreign.
Be prepared to share examples with us of how you have harnessed data to help generate revenue and build valuable audience segments and insights. Get extra points for showing us data visualizations that make data more accessible to employees throughout an organization. Experience building and managing data warehouses is preferred.
