Job Summary/Description:

Eastern Carolina's #1 news station, WITN News, is seeking a dynamic bilingual (Spanish) multimedia journalist to help tell stories to our Hispanic community through our brand-new Telemundo affiliation. We're looking for someone who lives for current events - who enterprises hard news lead stories and doesn't pitch the latest press release. The ideal candidate has a knack for communication, a passion for videography, and speaks the social media language. This position is for someone who loves finding stories, pitching them, and then reporting, shooting, and editing them! Live shots daily! The successful candidate must be organized, driven, creative, and an active content creator.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• Reporting on both WITN 7.1 newscasts and on our regional Telemundo newscast
• Shooting, writing, editing, and posting stories
• Working under strict deadline pressure
• Coordination with the news director for bureau upkeep

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Native or excellent Spanish/English (written and spoken)
• Able to translate Spanish to English and English to Spanish fluidly in live situations
• Bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism or a related field
• Self-starter skills
• Knowledge of and ability to operate state-of-the-art television news equipment as well as content management systems and social media
