Details:
FOX8 WGHP is looking for someone who can bring energy, organization, and a sense of urgency to fill our open Assignment Manager position. You will help coordinate daily/nightly news coverage, react to breaking news, research and pitch story ideas. You’ll also manage an assignment desk team of 3 people. The right candidate should have excellent editorial judgement and have a keen sense of logistics.
Skills & requirements:
- Good communicator
- Available to take on-call assignments
- Listen to the scanner and respond to breaking news
- Develop and maintain contacts
- Assign crews and track them throughout the day
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, or related field preferred
