WCNC Charlotte is seeking a dynamic, creative, and versatile Lifestyle Host/Multimedia Journalist to join our locally produced entertainment and lifestyle show, Charlotte Today. This exciting role requires a blend of shooting, writing, editing, producing, and hosting skills to create compelling content that celebrates the people, places, and culture of the Carolinas. Strong social media skills and an understanding of how to extend storytelling across digital platforms are essential. If you have a passion for storytelling, a strong on-camera presence, and the ability to bring ideas to life across multiple platforms, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities: Content Creation & Storytelling • Shoot video for paid client content, local events, restaurants, art exhibits, and human-interest stories using a variety of camera equipment and techniques. • Write engaging scripts and narratives tailored to client needs and audience interests. • Edit polished, professional-quality video packages with dynamic visuals and storytelling techniques. • Conceptualize, shoot, write, and edit multiple original content stories each week. Hosting & Producing • Host live and pre-recorded segments with confidence and authenticity, making clients and guests feel at ease. • Produce at least two full Charlotte Today shows per week. • Host and produce quarterly 30-minute specials highlighting standout stories and segments. • Pitch fresh, creative story ideas that uniquely showcase client segments. • Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance production efficiency, storytelling techniques, or audience engagement strategies. Audience Engagement & Collaboration • Maintain a strong social media presence to promote content and engage with viewers. • Collaborate across departments to help execute integrated sponsorship initiatives and special projects.
Requirements: • Strong shooting, writing, editing, and on-camera performance skills. • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality results. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration and client interactions. • A creative, community-focused mindset with a passion for local storytelling. • Familiarity with Adobe Premiere or similar editing software is preferred. • Proficiency or experience with social media and AI tools is a plus.
