POSITION: Chief Engineer
TYPE: Full Time
HOURS: 8:00am to 5:00pm/Monday thru Friday
LOCATION: WBTV, Raycom CBS in Charlotte, NC
DETAILS: WBTV has an opening for an experienced, motivated, goal oriented Chief Engineer. We are looking for someone with a minimum of 10 years experience in broadcast engineering. This position requires a strong working knowledge of a wide range of broadcast and content technology. Candidate must feel comfortable in managing all technical and operational aspects of the Studio and Transmitter facilities. We are looking for someone with a Technical Degree in Engineering or Computer Science discipline preferred, certified by the Society of Broadcast Engineers is a plus. This is a position requiring modern, innovated, multidimensional thinking with proven problem solving skills which have been tested in a fast paced cutting edge news environment. The ideal candidate must be proficient IT skills related to modern automation, encoding, and video play out systems. A solid understanding of ATSC Transport Streams and related technology is important. Experience in UHF\IOT transmitters and traditional microwave links is a must. The ideal candidate must have a good understanding of ENG\SNG technologies, skilled in all facets of project management. Previous supervisory responsibilities required. Knowledgeable of FCC Broadcast rules and regulations is a plus.
